Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy is set to hold first cabinet expansion today as JD(S) and Congress continue to hammer out agreement in the ruling alliance. According to agency sources, while over 12 legislators will be of the Congress, around nine MLAs of the JD(S) are likely to take oath today, a fortnight after Kumaraswamy was sworn in as chief minister.
As per the power sharing arrangement, the Congress would have a total of 22 ministers while the JD-S will have 12, including the chief minister. However, India TV sources say that Congress leaders are still in discussion with Rahul Gandhi in Delhi. A concrete list of minister from Congress will emerge only at around 11 AM.
As Congress released its first list, which excluded the name of MB Patil, MLA and Architect behind lingayat separation, he is reportedly said to quit Party and resign as MLA
MB Patil to resign as MLA by today afternoon due to his non inclusion in HDK Cabinet. Within next week, expect another 10-15 MLA's of INC to resign. HDK will be running a minority coalition government for next 5 months after which its bound to fall.
