Prakash Raj announces the loksabha seat; Seat has large number of minorities

Actor, activist and soon to be politician Prakash Raj known fro anti Hindu anti Modi stance has announced that he will make his foray into politics from the Bengaluru Central constituency. Taking to microblogging site Twitter, Raj announced he will be contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from the Bengaluru Central constituency as an independent candidate.

he actor also said he will be divulging further details on his electoral plans soon.Prakash Raj, a star of South Indian cinema known for his trenchant criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, announced his political aspirations on January 1. “Ab ki baar janata ki sarkar,” said the actor, 53, when he announced he would run for office in the general election due by May.

The Central Lok Sabha constituency is dominated by minority voters, and is challenge for candidates, with having to get the support of both linguistic and religious minorities. The constituency has around 5.5 lakh Tamil People, 4.5 lakh Muslims and about 2 lakh Christians. There is also a significant number of Marwaris and Jains, especially around Chickpet and Gandhinagar suburbs.
